What IS a Doula?
A Doula is a trained, supportive companion for your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support—not medical care, but a steady presence who helps you feel confident, grounded, and empowered. From helping you prepare during pregnancy, to offering comfort measures and guidance during labor, to supporting you in those first days and weeks after your baby arrives, my role is to hold space for you and your family. Think of me as a calm, guiding hand who celebrates your choices, advocates for your needs, and helps make this incredible journey feel more manageable, supported, and joyful.
What support do you provide during prenatal, labor & birth, and postpartum?
My care begins long before your baby’s arrival and continues well after, because every stage of this journey matters.
During pregnancy, I provide informational & educational support, alongside guidance, and emotional support so you feel prepared, grounded, and never alone. Together, we’ll explore your preferences, create a birth plan that reflects your values, and talk through any questions, fears, or hopes that arise. I’ll be a steady source of reassurance and resources, helping you walk into birth with knowledge, courage and confidence. I like getting together as frequently as possible for any updates or changes, or even just to chat.
During labor and birth, I carry a grounding energy and an open heart. I offer continuous emotional, physical, and informational support—for both you and your partner. This includes hands-on comfort measures like massage, counterpressure, and position changes, as well as breathwork, calming reassurance, and encouragement. I also help your partner feel confident and involved, offering suggestions and rest breaks so they can stay present with you. My goal is to create a calm, supportive atmosphere where your voice is honored and your choices are respected, so you feel safe, empowered, and deeply cared for.
In the postpartum time—the fourth trimester—my support continues. This season is so often overlooked, yet it forms the foundation of parenthood and your role within it. No one should have to step into it blindly or feel like they’re navigating it all alone. I’ll be your backup as you heal, adjust, and find your footing—offering gentle guidance, emotional support, and resources so you can step into motherhood with confidence and joy. Need someone to be there so you can take a baby-free shower? Didn't have time to meal-prep any postpartum meals? Haven't had a chance to get any rest? Is breastfeeding driving you crazy? Siblings need some dedicated attention? Partner and you looking for some alone time? I am here for it all.
From pregnancy to postpartum, my role is to hold space for you and your family with compassion, warmth, and steady presence, so that at every step, you feel supported, informed, and truly seen.
When is the best time to hire a Doula?
You can bring a Doula into your journey at any time, but many families feel the second trimester is a wonderful time to begin. Reaching out earlier not only makes sure I’ll have space for you, it also gives us plenty of time to grow a trusting relationship. Together, we’ll explore your hopes, your preferences, your questions, and even the tender places of fear. My goal is that, by the time your baby’s birth day arrives, you feel held, confident, and deeply supported...ready to welcome this new chapter with joy and connection.
Do you support High-Risk pregnancies?
Yes! I support families experiencing high-risk pregnancies with care, respect, and attention to your unique needs. No matter what kind of pregnancy you have, I am here to advocate for you and empower you to advocate for yourself. While I don’t provide medical care, I offer emotional, physical, and informational support throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. My role is to help you feel empowered, informed, and supported as you navigate any complications, communicate with your healthcare team, and make the choices that feel right for you. You don’t have to go through it alone! I’m here to hold space, offer reassurance, and provide steady guidance every step of the way.
Do you support all forms of birth? (Home, Hospital, VBAC'S, Cesarean)
Yes! Every birth is unique, and every family’s path deserves to be honored. I welcome all birthing experiences with compassion, care, and without judgment. Whether your journey includes a hospital birth with medication, a home birth, a VBAC, or a planned cesarean, my role is to be a steady, calming presence by your side to help keep you grounded. You don’t have to carry it all on your own! I am here to hold space for your choices, your voice, and your heart so that you feel safe, supported, and deeply seen. However your baby enters the world, you deserve to feel held in care and surrounded by joy as you step into this incredible new chapter.
What if I do not have a partner?
You don’t need a partner to have a doula by your side. I support you, fully and completely, whether you’re attending birth alone, with a friend, family member, or other support person. My role is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support, creating a safe and empowering space where you feel confident, grounded, and deeply cared for throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. You are never alone in this—I’ll be there to guide, hold space, and celebrate with you every step of the way.
